Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
Early in the morning, we head north to Ayutthaya, the city that was the capital of the Kings of Siam for over 400 years. We begin the visit with the ruins of the famous bell-shaped pagodas in the ancient royal palace, Wat Sri Samphet. Next to it we find the famous Wat Monhkon Bophit, with its imposing and Venetian statue of the seated Buddha. We will also visit the Cambodian-style pagodas of the immense Wat Chai Wattanaram, situated in a scenic location on the banks of the Chao Praya River, in a mystical and highly suggestive context. Lunch during the excursion.
From Ayutthaya we will travel a short distance to reach Ang Thong and the temple of Wat Muang, known for the majestic golden Buddha that rises to the sky with a height of 92 meters and a width of 63, and which represents the largest and most venerated statue of Thailand. We will continue north to Phi Chit, where we will visit one of the most unusual shrines in the country, Wat Mai Plai Huai.
Here we will go to the discovery of a complex of temples surrounded by a surreal atmosphere, in a corner of Thailand still unknown to mass tourism, a place of prayer and pilgrimage, including mystical representations of Buddhist life, imposing sanctuaries, statues of animals considered sacred and endowed with supernatural powers. From Phi Chit we will then move to Phitsanulok, located between the rice fields of the central highlands. In the late afternoon / early evening we will arrive at the Pattara Resort; accommodation in a Superior room.
Dinner (not included) and time to relax.
Overnight in Phitsanulok.
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
We will start the day with a visit to one of the most important archaeological sites in South East Asia, declared World Heritage by UNESCO: Sukhothai, the first capital of Siam, cradle of Thai art, language and culture. To make it such was the great King Ramkhameng, whose statue is placed at the entrance of the Historical Park. Here we will visit the temples of Wat Mahathat, Wat Sa Sri and Wat Sri Sawai, immersed in the tranquility of the sleepy Thai countryside. The excursion includes the use of bicycles or electric trains provided by the local authorities. After leaving the boundaries of the Historical Park we will reach Wat Sri Chum, where we will be able to admire a majestic Buddha of 15 meters.
The next stop, in the picturesque more traditional rural province, will be an organic farm near Sri Satchanalai. Walking on the farm we will be able to observe different crops and the different stages of maturation and processing of rice, the real king of the table in Thailand and in Asian cuisine. At the end of the visit we will have lunch on the farm where we will be served a healthy lunch prepared with organic ingredients from the same farm. We will continue then
Northwards until you reach the territory of the ancient Kingdom of Lanna, of which Chiang Mai (La Rosa del Nord) has been the capital for more than 5 centuries.
Arrival at the Shewe Wana Boutique Resort and overnight in a Superior Room or, alternatively, at the Bodhi Serene Chiang Mai (Superior Room) or at the Aruntara River Side (Deluxe Room).
Dinner (not included) and time to relax.
Overnight in Chiang Mai.
Breakfast at the hotel and visit of the city of Chiang Mai, the "Rose of the North". We will climb the hills that dominate the city to reach 1060 meters of altitude, and here we will find the beautiful Wat Prathat Doi Suthep. The temple, with its imposing golden pagodas, is the true symbol of the city; situated in a position of great charm on the top of the mountain, it enjoys a magnificent landscape. It is possible to reach the temple with the comfortable elevators or climbing the 300 steps of an ancient staircase.
We will then continue towards the mountain of Doi Pui, where we will visit a picturesque village of the Hmong ethnic group, in a mountainous landscape covered with jungle and far from the paths of mass tourism. We will then return to Chiang Mai to have lunch on the banks of the Ping River, in the welcoming Rommai Rimping restaurant, which offers exquisite regional and Thai cuisine in a relaxing atmosphere. After lunch we will reach the historic center.
The most important temples and monuments of the city are located within its square-shaped walls, once protected by high and imposing walls, now in ruins. We will visit the wonderful Wat Para Sing, two buildings with original carved wood structures, decorated with golden inserts. Next to it are the funeral pagoda of King Mengrai and the ancient library of the monks.
The next stop will take us to discover the ruins of the temples of ancient Wiang Kum Kam in an excursion on horse-drawn carriages, on country roads in the sleepy rural province of Chiang Mai, where time seems to have stopped. At the end of the visit we will return to the hotel.
Dinner (not included) and time to relax.
Overnight in Chiang Mai.
After breakfast, check-out and departure to visit the Chiang Rai province. Leaving Chiang Mai behind, we will continue north-east until we reach the Wat Phrathat Mon Phrachao Lai complex (Wat Prachao Luang), immersed in the silence of the mountains. We will go to the highest point of this Monastery, still unknown to most, in an oasis of peace and with a magnificent view of the river that flows between green valleys. We will continue towards the beautiful Wat Rong Khun, better known as the White Temple of Chiang Rai.
Lunch near the temple, during the excursion, before continuing north to the jungle-covered peaks that mark the natural border between Thailand and Burma. From here the route is short to arrive at the Golden Triangle, one of the most famous places in Southeast Asia, where the waters of the great Mekong River lap against Burma, Thailand and Laos. Our visit will continue to the "Black House" and the Baan Dam Museum, before arriving in Chiang Rai where we will admire the spectacular Wat Rong Suea Ten, the temple of the Dancing Tiger, also known as the Blue Temple.
Still unknown mass altruism, it is undoubtedly, together with the White Temple, one of the most evocative and magical temples in the country. This exotic context that unites Buddhism and modern art is the last stage of a long and stimulating day. At the end of the visit, transfer to the Nai Ya Hotel (Superior Room) or Le Patta (Deluxe Room).
