    Elephant Sanctuary

General description:

Your chance to spend an unforgettable day in an ethical elephant camp is to visit The Elephant Sanctuary in Krabi. This is a paradise and a new home for old rescued elephants who can finally retreat away from hard work and violence in a peaceful and lush natural environment where they are fed, washed and cared for.

The Sanctuary is located in the rainforest, on the banks of the river, and houses an elephant hospital where the pachyderms are treated by doctors and professional staff.

The experience:

With this tour you will spend a morning or an afternoon learning about elephants, socializing with them in the lush jungle and in the cool river waters of the Sanctuary. Here the pachyderms are not ridden or abused, but shown with respect. At the beginning of your visit you will have the opportunity to ask questions, know the costs, the rescue process and the daily habits of these beautiful animals. You will feed the elephants while they are presented to you one by one by their carers.

The program:

  • Jungle walk alongside elephants through the rainforest from the Sanctuary to the river
  • Mud wetting the elephants: you will be taught how to take care of their skin by gently rubbing the mud all over the body. They love it!
  • Take a bath in the river with your elephant, a truly unforgettable experience. You will see how much they enjoy being in the water and there is the possibility that they become playful and they splash you with their proboscis. Be ready!
