We are excited to sharing great news that, after Cambodia, Vietnam, it's now Laos reopen border to welcome international tourists from Jan 2022 in two phases with basic requirement as below:

1.      It's requirement for all travelers registered/book their service via a local travel agency

2.      Travelers must have been fully vaccinated (at least 2 shots) at least 14 days from the date of arrival

3.      All travelers must have negative Covid-19 testing result by RC PCR not more than 74 hours upon arrival.

4.      Download and register mobile app LaoStaySafe

5.      All travelers must have insurance program with the value of at least $50,000

6.      All travelers will have Covid-19 test by RC PCR upon arrival at the airport and wait for the results not more than 24 hours

Travel Zones

The country will first opens the main tourist routes for travelers including as following:

·        Green Travel Zones: Vientiane, Vang Vieng, Luang Prabang

·        Green Travel Trail: Oudomxay – Xayaboury -  Xieng Khouang – Khammouane – Champasack

All the suppliers (hotels, transportation, restaurant, guide, attraction) need to have LaoSafe Certificate to receive the travelers.

Welcome Nationalities

There are 14 more countries added to the eligible list to enter Laos since the 1st phase including:

·        Austria

·        Belgium

·        Brunei

·        Denmark

·        Finland

·        Indonesia

·        Israel

·        Ireland

·        Hungary

·        New Zealand

·        Norway

·        Poland

·        Swiss

·        Philippines

Notice: In the 1st phase (until March 30th 2022), the travelers can only arrive / depart from Vientiane via 2 border checkpoints:

1.      Wattay International Airport: flights to Hanoi or Bangkok

2.      Friendship Bridge 1: connecting with Nongkhai, Thailand
